This month, AIAP Hike will be at South Fortuna mountain trail. For more information about this trail please visit AllTrails.
Meeting Time & Location:
We meet at Mission Trails Park parking lot at 7:15 AM and start promptly at 7:30 AM. Hike Details: South Fortuna Mountain Trail is a scenic and moderately challenging hike in Mission Trails Park, approximately 5.5 miles round trip. The trail takes us through beautiful oak groves, seasonal creek crossings, and rocky hillsides, with panoramic views of San Diego and the surrounding mountains. One of the highlights is the famous “Stairway to Heaven,” a steep series of wooden steps leading toward the 1,094 foot summit. While much of the trail is manageable, the steep climb and stairs make it a more challenging and rewarding hike, especially for those looking for a good workout. Important Reminders: Please bring enough water, breakfast to share, water and wear comfortable hiking boots.
