General Meeting: "Public Opinion and Survey Research in Iran: Challenges and Opportunities" by Mr. Daniel L. Tavana

  • 28-Jul-2021
  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Online / Virtual

We would like to invite you to AIAP's 5th virtual general monthly meeting in 2021 on July 28th, from 7 to 8:00 pm. This meeting will be available on Zoom.

Our guest speaker is Mr. Daniel L. Tavana. Mr. Tavana will discuss "Public Opinion and Survey Research in Iran: Challenges and Opportunities". He will explain whether survey research can challenge our assumptions about everyday life and social change in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Much of what we know about Iranian society today comes from intermittent government data, impressionistic journalist anecdotes, and other accounts from diaspora communities. Missing from many of these narratives, however, are the attitudes, behaviors, and opinions of ordinary Iranians themselves. In this talk, Daniel L. Tavana will introduce the Iran Social Survey, an ongoing survey-based study of Iranian public opinion. The findings will focus on political participation, ethno-linguistic identity, and socio-economic relations in contemporary Iran.

This event is Free to public. At the time of meeting, simply go to the Zoom link here to join the live event. Please visit AIAP website to learn more about our activities.
