General Meeting: "OFAC and the Iranian-American Community" by Ms. Mehrnoush Yazdanyar

We would like to invite you to AIAP's 6th virtual general monthly meeting in 2021 on June 30th, from 7 to 8:00 pm. This meeting will be available on Zoom.

Our guest speaker is Ms. Mehrnoush Yazdanyar. Her presentation, OFAC and the Iranian-American Community, will provide additional information about OFAC and sanction laws.

Ms. Yazdanyar was born in Gorgan, Iran and moved to the United States at the age of 3. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in Near Eastern Languages. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Southern California’s (USC) Law School in 2004. Ms. Yazdanyar started her own private practice in 2009.

For the past 11 years her firm, Yazdanyar Law Offices, has diligently defended the rights of their clients with navigating the often-complex and ever-changing U.S. sanctions and immigration laws. Her firm specializes in assisting clients nationwide to comply with and address issues related to the sanctions programs administered by the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).  For the past 11 years, Ms. Yazdanyar has regularly spoken at seminars and conferences, geared at both attorneys as well as individuals, who are looking to understand the complicated and ambiguous U.S. sanctions laws and regulations. Additionally, she has also had regular guest appearances on radio shows,TV shows, podcasts as well as appeared on Politicon in 2018 and been quoted in countless newspaper articles over the years.

Even though the time provided for this presentation is an hour, in case the Q&A segment requires more time, additional time can be allocated accordingly.
