General Meeting: "How To Translate Science Into A Revolutionary Business" by Dr. Parastoo Khoshakhlagh

We would like to invite you to AIAP’s 4th virtual general monthly meeting in 2021 on April 28th, from 7 to 8:00 pm. This meeting will be available on Zoom, and Facebook.

We will start our event by introducing Mr. Mehdi Naraghi’s recently published book, WINNERS & LOSERS. Mr. Naraghi will provide an introduction about his book. A portion of Mr. Naraghi’s book sale profits will be donated to AIAP. PURCHASE THE BOOK

Our main guest speaker is Dr. Parastoo Khoshakhlagh who is the CEO & Co-Founder at GC Therapeutics. Dr. Khoshakhlagh’s presentation is : “How To Translate Science Into A Revolutionary Business”. She will discuss about her experience as an entrepreneur in a medical field, and how she used her scientific knowledge to revolutionize her field and how her company was chosen to collaborate with NASA. 

Parastoo Khoshakhlagh, Ph.D. is the CEO and co-founder of GC Therapeutics, Inc. GCTx is a VC-backed cell therapy company based on a technology that Dr. Khoshakhlagh co-invented during her postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School and co-authored in Nature Biotechnology. GCTx’s she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Ali Khademhosseini at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. Dr. Khoshakhlagh is also the co-founder, co-inventor and former CSO of Tympanogen, Inc., a woman-led company which is developing Perf-Fix, the first non-surgical, minimally invasive 3D hydrogel patch to heal chronic eardrum ruptures. Tympanogen has won multiple national and international awards such as the NASA Earth / Space Life Science Innovation Award and the nCourage Courageous Women Entrepreneur Prize. She completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University. Her work during her PhD led to her being a co-inventor on a U.S. patent application that resulted in the creation of Axosim, a start-up that develops drug screening nerve-on-a-chip products.

Dr. Khoshakhlagh will present in English. Even though the time provided for this presentation is an hour, in case the Q&A segment requires more time, additional time can be allocated accordingly.
