This event is in the past.
AIAP January hike will be at El Cajon Mountain. This hike is an 11 miles round trip Moderate-Strenuous hike to gain 4,100 feet elevation and takes over 6 hours. The scenery is amazing and there are so few people on the trail that makes you feel like you are 100's of miles from anything. Please bring hiking boots, enough water, and snack. Take I-15, Exit Poway Road and go all the way to the east. Turn right (south) onto CA-67 S and drive about 8.5 mile, turn left (east) onto Willow Road and after 1 mile turn left onto Wildcat Canyon Road. After 3.5 miles find the small parking area on the right. There is no parking farther up the gravel road.
Take Interstate 8 East to Highway 67 North, another 6.2 miles north, turn right (east) onto Willow Road and after 1 mile turn left onto Wildcat Canyon Road. After 3.5 miles find the small parking area on the right.
